Kenneth Josiah Hampton, 26, of Washington, was found guilty last week, on charges including conspiracy to distribute marijuana and oxycodone, possession with intent to distribute the drugs, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, the US Attorney’s Office said.
The verdict came after a six-day trial in US District Court, where evidence painted Hampton as a prolific drug dealer who used his rap career and social media to promote his illegal business.
Authorities said Hampton frequently posted about his drug inventory under the alias “The Neighborhood Pharmacist,” advertising prescription opioids, marijuana, and counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl.
Investigators began building their case after a search warrant was executed at Hampton’s residence in October 2022.
Inside, agents recovered three firearms, fentanyl-laced oxycodone pills, promethazine, pounds of marijuana, and thousands in cash.
Hampton shared the home with co-conspirator Myles Allen, who pleaded guilty last year to possession of a firearm during drug trafficking and is serving a five-year sentence.
Photos and videos shown in court revealed Hampton and Allen posing with large amounts of cash, drugs, and weapons, prosecutors said.
Hampton faces a mandatory minimum of five years and a maximum of life in prison for the firearms charge, in addition to up to 20 years for the drug offenses.
Sentencing is scheduled for March 19, 2025.
